ETV Canada harmonization is a multi-level cooperative initiative to help bring credible technologies that benefit the environment to the forefront by working with our ETV Canada partners worldwide. We can improve access to information on market opportunities while also facilitating a greater understanding of the needs of technology users. We ensure that:
- verification standards meet real-world needs
- verification processes and reporting are transparent, flexible, timely and coherent
- we work cooperatively with standard-setting organizations
ETV Canada is also augmenting efforts to support the international harmonization of assessment protocols and test methods, building on the established ETV General Test Protocol and other related decision-support tools. The principal elements of this strategy are:
• sharing of protocols and test methods
• mutual recognition or accreditation of verification entities, and
• country-to-country reciprocity, where practical.
